Back to work, yes, back to work I go. On Monday, I went back to work for the first time in 7 weeks. I had to face yet another transition: working mother. I wondered throughout my pregnancy and the first 7 weeks of
Alivia's life how I was going to handle it and how other moms made it look so easy. For me, it's not easy to leave my baby girl every morning, it's not easy to be at work everyday instead of being with her, it's not easy pumping milk instead of just breastfeeding and bonding with her, it's not easy missing out on 8 precious hours with my little one- it's just not easy. BUT... I know that she is with someone that loves her, someone that cares for her, and someone that I can trust. Ben, Mr. Dad, is doing an amazing job watching her while I am work, and just knowing that makes this transition go smoother than I could have imagined. I miss her and I miss being with Ben too, since quality time is one of my love languages.
I read on a church board once: faith makes things possible, not easy!
With that quote in mind I went back to work with faith knowing that God would give me strength I needed to get through this time in my life. My first day back at work was not as bad as I thought it would be. I really believe in the power of prayer. I have been praying a lot about this situation and I know others have been too. Although, this is not the path I want to take right now in my life, I feel at peace knowing that it is the path God is directing me towards. I know that sometimes we have to do what we don't want to do and that it is for the best! I feel honored that I can do this for my family and that I can look forward to one day being a stay at home mom. Hopefully it is in the near future but if it is not, I will take each day one day at a time, and keep looking towards God for strength!
