The Christmas Story Play by the Spiers' kids!!

The kids worked so dang hard on this play! I loved the props, donkey, camel, star on wall, baby Jesus (Anna doll wrapped in linen in a mini doll camper!!), and there tent stable. Don't mind the "Oh crap" thrown in there. This idea was inspired by one of our December read alouds, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. Watch their play here!!

Christmas 2020!!

Christmas was joyful and lovely and relaxing! We really just wanted a nice, calm celebration. We had Christmas eve dinner with both grandmas and our aunt. We potlucked soup and grandma Billie made delicious bread bowls! Yum. We enjoyed our dinner and opening Christmas presents. We sang Silent Night by candle light and the kids performed the Christmas story. It was delightful and darling! The kids wore matching pajamas and felt the magic of Christmas and the joy of Jesus.

They are darling!!

Silent Night by candle light!! (she scorched some of her hair by getting too close. I was taking pictures and not paying attention to her fly-aways! oops)

We didn't make a Christmas Eve service but still wanted to sing this song in candle light!!

Ben led the worship on his guitar while we sang.

Oh, Christmas Tree!!

This year, we thought it would be fun to go on a little Christmas tree hunt in the forest. After all we are doing so many nature things with school and we thought this would be a fun adventure to incorporate into our year. We spotted our cute, little tree fairly quickly and each kiddo had a chance to cut it with the saw. It was a gorgeous day and none of us got cold searching for the perfect Christmas tree. After we found our tree and got it strapped to the car, we were not ready to leave yet so we went on a pine cone hunt and hike. The kids acted like they were in a war after reading about the Indians and Pioneers in The Little House book series and watching a movie about world war 2. It was quite entertaining. We have decided to make this a new tradition and go on a tree hunt yearly!

On our way up!!
