Compassion Step into their Shoes Event!!

A local organization called Compassion International puts on an event each summer and I thought since we were learning about different continents and countries that we could go this year. It was a perfect age for Alivia and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Nolan did well during the activities but would not sit down and be quiet for the presentation part so we had to leave early. Thankfully, we had family join so they stayed with Alivia. Graysen and Eliyanah just joined in for the ride. :) It was a great, eye-opening event for the kids and myself to see how blessed we are with the home we have and the food we get to eat on a daily basis. I loved that we were able to do it in a unique, play based way.

The amount of rice I earned from "working" for the day while the kids built the shelter. It was a great visual for the kids to see and realize how blessed we are to have more than a handful of rice to eat at meal times. And, better yet to show them that we have 3 meals a day plus snacks and we have choices each meal!
